Revolution

Gastronomic performance. 2018

On October 27th, we held a gastronomic performance at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum that we designed around the theme of Small gestures, great things: Revolution.

We divide the performance into three acts:

ACT I: THE SUBJECT

In this act, we wanted to make a parallel about how art is currently consumed inside museums. An intimate, silent moment, in which there is no room for anyone but the one who observes and the work.

The "work" chosen was "the bread". A primitive food, today a complement that goes unnoticed and at the same time, the trigger of great revolutions when missing from the table.

ACT II: THE COLLECTIVE

We were inspired by the picnic that took place in the Cuesta del Moyano, on March 8, 2018. We wanted to transfer that spirit to the room as a sign that the union of people with the same goal is the start of a movement.

ACT III: THE CHANGE

When someone is deprived of what they value so much, they feel frustration, and with frustration, revolution emerges. We call "the change" to this part of the food, because we wanted to find out what would happen if, after doing something with a lot of dedication, thinking that it is for you, you have to give it to the next one.
